This has been a stressful week for our family, and a bit stressful for me. I am a stress head at the best of times. arghhhh!
Our second daughter Jasmine and family had their shed broken into. Luckily a neighbour was up and saw what was happening and rang the Police. The first Jas and Dave knew was when a policeman knocked on their door. They had to spend time putting a motion sensor on the shed and locking things up more securely. It's daft, this is such a greedy world! If you want it boys just go and work for it like we do...!! They, also, had had a lovely Christmas wreath taken from the door at Christmas, it was all gold bells! I bought it for Jasmine and just hope that the thief has given it to someone who loves it as much as Jas did. I also hope they find out it was stolen and give their son/grandson a clout.
Our eldest daughter Hannah had a husky dog get into her chicken coup. It had had a go at all the four chickens. One died and another I went over and dispatched, another had a strained leg and scratches as did the fourth one. So four became two! And although they were deeply traumatised they are now okay.
Bless Hannah though she was determined to make good of a bad situation. A friend plucked and trussed one and then I showed Hannah how to do the other. It seemed awful having to take away the eggs she should have been laying today and tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow. Not a nice job but also fascinating to see how a laying hen works.
Our 3rd daughter Danii had her wallet stolen whilst away at her fiancees. Luckily it was found the same day intact 3 miles away from where they had been. She was one lucky, lucky girl.
Our 4th daughter received her certificate for her AS levels that she had taken last year. She won't show me so I presume the grades aren't too good. Never worry she left and swapped subjects last September and is now studying what she likes and not what she thinks she was expected to study.
On the plus side I was able to spend time with all the girls this week. I spent the day with Hannah after the chicken incident. Jasmine came up home for a bit of TLC. They went out to lunch and me and Camilla #4 looked after their 2 babies Ben and Willow. That made us laugh and cry sometimes at the same time, it was nice to spend time with Cam even though it was hard work! And boy were we glad when the got home 2 1/2 hrs later. I went wedding dress shopping with Danielle #3, we saw what we can't afford to buy! I took curtains up for Hannah whilst she was under the guise of learning how to do it.
It's the sort of week I wanted as a grandma to gather my chicks around me and keep them safe and make that big bad world go away. Mmmmmm I wonder if we ought to buy a big place and move in together? Now, I wonder what the boys would have to say about that?
Then came the weekend, I thought they were supposed to be restful........
